“A Quiet House by the Sea” by Nisa Moazzam Gulzar

A quiet house by the sea

Stands tall and proud,

Battered by the waves,

But never bowed.

It bears the weight

Of countless storms,

Yet still, it stands,

Through tempest and norm.

What is it that gives this house

Such strength and steadfastness?

Is it the rock upon which it’s built,

Or something more, a consciousness?

Perhaps it’s the sea that surrounds it,

A constant presence, always near,

That gives the house a sense of peace,

And banishes all fear.

Or maybe it’s the simple joy

Of being close to nature’s beauty,

That fills the house with calmness,

And makes its inhabitants feel duty.

Whatever the reason may be,

The quiet house by the sea

Stands as a symbol of resilience,

A reminder of what we can be.
